The 27th Golden Autumn Tourism Culture Festival kicked off on September 22, 2019 in south Beijing's Daxing district in a 2,000-hectare pear orchard located in Panggezhuang town.

The festival showcased special products in Panggezhuang, and local traditional culture through cucurbit flute performance, sealing wax, old family objects, as well as bronze figures that display people’s lifestyle along Yongding River.

Students from the No. 2 Primary School in Panggezhuang town gave a wonderful cucurbit flute performance. The bottle gourd is a kind of old world climbing plant with hard-shelled bottle-shaped gourds as fruits. It is a symbol of blessing, good fortune and happiness, and it is loved by the Chinese people.

The art of sealing wax, a traditional type of wax that melts quickly when heated and becomes hard when it cools, also proved popular.
