Second Beijing Nanhaizi Culture Forum opens

The second Beijing Nanhaizi Culture Forum was held in Beijing's Renmin University of China on Dec 21. Its aim was to enhance the Nanhaizi cultural brand and give support to building the Nanhaizi a window of Daxing district to the world.

The second forum was co-hosted by the First Historical Archives of China, National Library of China, the Palace Museum, and other national cultural units.

Some precious historical materials such as “the general drawing of Nanyuan” were exhibited for the first time at the Renmin University of China. In addition, the rubbings of the "Nanhaizi Tuanhe River Imperial Palace" in the Palace Museum and five artworks in the style of Nanhaizi, copied by the National Library of China, were exhibited to the public for the first time.

Daxing district has officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Palace Museum press to develop Nanhaizi cultural and creative products.

The lovely Milu deer model, as one of the Nanhaizi cultural products, is made by 3D printing. It not only serves as a decoration, but also as a mobile phone bracket or a jewelry rack.

A book called A brief History of Nanhaizi in Beijing”, which is currently being written, is expected to be published by the Palace Museum press in June next year.

The first Nanhaizi-themed digital museum in China opened at the forum.

As the first national collection and sharing platform, Nanhaizi digital museum has collected more than ten thousand documents and archives, including court archives of Ming and Qing Dynasties, modern archives, Yangshi Lei archives, historical documents and images. All the precious archives were offered to be exhibited by the First Historical Archives of China, National Library of China, the Palace Museum and other national cultural institutions.

In order to increase the international influence of Nanhaizi culture, the forum invited Donald Waster, a famous American environmental historian and honorary director of the research center for ecological history of Renmin University of China, to explain the historical value, cultural protection and development orientation of Nanhaizi culture.

The forum has annotated "Nanhaizi culture" into a new meaning from the perspective of internationalization.

According to the organizer, Daxing district will build Nanhaizi park a window of Daxing district to the international world, integrating tradition and modernity, nature and humanity.
