Daxing paves the way for restarting of International Airport Satellite Terminal

Beijing Daxing International Airport is stepping up construction of its key Airport Satellite Terminal projects to support the resumption of operations, amid the coronavirus outbreak.
Beijing Daxing International Airport, a comprehensive transportation hub located in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei areas, has resumed construction while under epidemic control. While some of the projects are behind schedule compared with the previous quarter, Daxing is planning to further optimize work procedures and allocate more resources to ensure that annual targets are achieved for the airport project, which is expected to be completed on time.

On the morning of February 28, the Daxing District Housing and Urban Rural Development Commission, Capital Airport Holding Company, and the Daxing District Health Supervision Institute jointly checked prevention and control measures for the office areas, working areas and workers' dormitory of the project to actively facilitate its gradual resumption.
"We are making every effort to help the airport satellite terminal resume construction, including epidemic prevention measures. The negative impact on production will be curbed if measures and policies are precisely taken," said Gan Yadi, deputy director of the Daxing District Center for Disease Prevention and Control.
The satellite terminal project of the Beijing Daxing International Airport is located on the south side of the terminal that has been put into use. After completion, the annual passenger throughput of Beijing Daxing International Airport will increase from 45 million to 72 million. The Daxing airport also supports the construction of Xiong’an new area.

After evaluation, the checklist for epidemic prevention and control on construction sites was signed by the Daxing District Housing and Urban Rural Development Commission, Capital Airport Holding Company,and the Daxing District Health Supervision Institute. Resumption of construction of the Beijing Daxing Airport Satellite Terminal was immediately approved.
As of February 28, there had been no newly infected patients for days in Daxing, while the total number of workers at 255 construction sites located in Daxing district reached 5,145 people.
Closed management is taken at all construction sites to prevent spread of the novel coronavirus. Workers returning to Beijing are required to be observed in designated quarantine areas. To date, no new suspected cases of infection have been found.
