Daxing biomedical base, known as China Pharmaceutical Valley in Daxing District, Beijing, has resumed production over the past few months. More than 50 enterprises in the industrial park have been directly involved in the R & D and production of anti epidemic products, and 60 enterprises with an annual output value of more than 20 million yuan ($ 282.06 million)  are now back at work.

In 2020, from January to February, 34 new enterprises were added in the park, an increase of 13.4 percent year-on-year, and the tax revenue for the period was 341 million yuan, basically that of the same period last year.

R & D and industrialization of related drugs and medical equipment for novel coronavirus detection, diagnosis, treatment and protection are well progressed in the related enterprises, social organizations, and innovation and creation service agencies of Daxing biomedical base.

 To accelerate the transformation and application of scientific and technological achievements during epidemic prevention and control, and to minimize the impact of novel coronavirus pneumonia, or COVID-19, on micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises, Daxing biomedical base supports the enterprises' giving full play to their technological advantages.

In a workshop of a mask factory, three new production lines are up and running. It is surprising that it took only 24 hours for the base to build the three production lines which have a total output of 70,000 masks per day.

Since the production line began operation a month ago, it has put more than two million masks on the market, contributing to the fight against the epidemic.

In addition, Daxing biomedical base encourages enterprises to carry out R&D of medicines and medical equipment related to epidemic prevention and control, supports social organizations to publicize epidemic prevention and control polices, and promotes new technologies and products.

The base also takes measures helping relevant units and technology-based start-ups work on the development and promotion of therapeutic drugs and promoting connection of research projects with laboratories, inspection and testing institutions, mass production enterprises, financial institutions, and  markets.

“As a park with more than 3,000 pharmaceutical related enterprises, Daxing biomedical base disseminates epidemic prevention and control-related information, promotes new technologies, new products and new services emerging in the fight against the epidemic, and spreads the stories of enterprises engaged in that fight,” said a Daxing biomedical base official.
