The Daxing International Airport Economic Zone announced a global-oriented recruitment of investors and operators to create a world-class international convention exhibition center, at a forum held in Beijing’s Daxing district on June 30.
“The convention and exhibition industry can not only provide support for major national events that display the country’s image, but also lead to scientific and technological exchanges and business cooperation around the world,” said Liao Zihan, vice-general manager of Beijing New Aerotropolis Holdings Co, the economic zone’s core platform.
This move will be a major engine to drive the area’s economy, and offer a strong support for the new powers of national development.
In the future, the center will keep up trends and establish a convention and exhibition ecology based on international innovation-driven industries by converging goods, funds and information flow, thus promoting leapfrog development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
The administrative committee of the economic zone has fully advanced a project featuring its core function of international exchanges by setting up expert groups. Meanwhile, an international bid for architectural design is planned for the latter half of the year for finalization by 2021.
Although affected by the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic situation, the attending representatives from all over the world shared in-depth ideas on the construction and operation of the exhibition project via cloud platform.
At the activity, Luo Boming, deputy director of the economic zone’s administrative committee, issued appointment letters to expert representative from the Convention and Exhibition Economic Expert Committee.
