Beijing’s Daxing district held online classes on epidemic prevention and control from July 14 to 16, attracting a total of 11,700 viewers, including local officials and staff members from the district’s epidemic-control groups, government units, enterprises and institutions.

Experts from the district’s center for disease control and prevention were invited to give detailed explanations of the situation to help people refine their approach and intensify the defense against the virus in communities and villages.

The courses stressed practical effects and covered community management, health education, precautions for home-based observation, disinfection and suspicious food handling.

In view of multiple factors such as public security, timing, and venues, it was decided to deliver the lectures online from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm, which was  convenient for the audience.

Whether on the frontline of epidemic prevention or on duty at their posts, the workers were able to listen to the lessons via a mobile app or on a PC.

Through the training a majority of cadres checked out deficiencies and increased rectification of weak links. Continuous strict management of access control, health monitoring, environmental cleaning and disinfection will be implemented.

Meanwhile, epidemic-control priorities and strategies should be adjusted as the situation changes, and should focus on optimizing regional security organizations, building smart communities and drawing up autumn and winter anti-virus plans.
