Yinghai Culture and History Museum opened its door in Beijing’s Daxing district on August 1, immediately becoming a in-demand travel destination in southern Beijing.

The museum is located inside a renovated and remodeled industrial compound and took two years to construct.

Covering an area of 1,400 square meters and built with an investment of more than 10 million yuan ($1.43million), the project is intended to increase the district’s cultural offerings and provide local residents with a new community attraction.

The interior of the pavilion is dominated with red color and exhibits design elements from the period of the Red Star Collective Farm, a time when local people struggle for happiness under the leadership of the Communist Party of China.

In addition, it shows strong regional characteristics by integrating the elk and garden culture of Daxing.

The exhibition hall is full of technology-driven content. With immersive scenes, 3D stereoscopic projections, phantom imaging, graphic displays and physical exhibits, it provides more than 100 precious photos and nearly 100 historical relics, for the delight of curious visitors.

According to an official from Yinghai township, the museum is designed to record the history and social development of the local area, and help residents appreciate the changes that have taken place there.
