The first online celebrity festival kicked off on Aug 19 in Beijing’s Daxing district.

Sponsored by the district committee’s office of cyberspace administration, the activity focused on promoting appropriate online culture and cultivating a healthy and harmonious network environment.

At the event, booths presented a range of high-quality products pertaining to poverty alleviation, rural revitalization, technological innovation, cultural creativity and traditional culture. Meanwhile, some influencers conducted promotional activities via livestreaming.

Many tourists visited Daxing for the event, where they learned about the district’s beautiful streets and alleys, renewed pastoral life and unique agricultural products.

The event offered online surfers and bloggers a stage to showcase their talents and creativity, with some performing kuaiban (story-telling to the rhythm of bamboo clappers).

Internet celebrities were called on to spread positive energy and encourage netizens to create a civilized, healthy, safe and harmonious cyberspace.
