This year's T-EDGE global innovation conference opened in Beijing's Daxing district on Dec 18.

More than 100 domestic and foreign innovation leaders shared ideas about the new patterns of globalization, technological innovation, industrial restructuring and new consumption. They also discussed the trends of international exchanges and cooperation.

Sponsored by the administrative committee of the Beijing Daxing International Airport Economic Zone, the national new media industrial base and TMTpost Group, a technological investment service platform, the conference was broadcast live and included global connections.

From this year the capital city has been engaged in building the Beijing Free Trade Zone and a national integrated demonstration zone for greater openness in the services sector and more space for Daxing to connect to the world.

At the opening ceremony of the conference, Luo Boming, deputy director of the Daxing airport area's administrative committee, promoted the "two zones" and released the district's second list of institutional innovations.

Also, the conference will put on a ceremony on Dec 19 to award prizes to global technology and business elites.

The conference, one of the most eye-catching events pertaining to China's technology and innovation, has been an international stage for over 600 innovation leaders from more than 40 countries.

To date, about 300 companies have explored access to new investment and business opportunities through the event, with more than 30 projects being introduced.

The conference will further cultivate new momentum for local high-precision industries, contribute to the building of the "two zones", and boost regional economy, society and culture in the new era.

The national new media industrial base, one of the sponsors, is home to more than 4,000 companies and has fostered an industrial structure centered on technological innovation, cultural creativity and digital economy.
