Beijing Cell Therapy Group, one of the first companies that settled in the Beijing Daxing International Airport Economic Zone, launched on June 16.

Registered in June 2020, the firm's production area, quality inspection center, R&D center, conference and exhibition area will all be put into use. It specializes in cell storage, cell medicine, genetic testing and health management.

"To deal with poor efficacy and high cost in the cell therapy of solid tumors, we have established dual headquarters in Beijing and Shanghai in 2021, and manage to reduce costs by more than 90 percent or even more through innovation in underlying technologies," said a spokesman.

Beijing Cell Therapy Group will also construct an international cell gene science and technology port in stages, with an estimated investment of more than three billion yuan ($446 million). It plans to develop an industry cluster with global influence within 5-10 years.

The Daxing airport economic zone will continue to improve supply and supervision for the life and health industry, and provide better services making use its advantages in domestic and foreign markets and resources.
