Daxing, a southern suburb of Beijing, will adopt technologies of photovoltaic power, optic-thermal coupling, methanol reforming and hydrogen energy in building an interconnected energy supply system, according to officials who spoke at the annual "two sessions" on Jan 4.

It was expected to become the first carbon-free demonstration industrial park for hydrogen-electricity coupling in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.

So far, over 40 enterprises, such as Kewell Technology and Beijing Wenli Technology, have settled down in the northern section of Daxing International Hydrogen Energy Demonstration Zone. It has built an all-round service system and local enterprises have participated in the production of all key parts in the entire industry.

Phases one and two of the southern part of the Daxing Zone have completed all construction projects and will mainly provide plants and hydrogen-powered testing services when it becomes operational.

Meanwhile, a national inspection & examination center for fuel-cell vehicles will be also built in the southern area of the Daxing   Zone to offer North China's enterprises a whole chain of services in the hydrogen sector.

During the past few years, Daxing has further improved its industrial policies  and boasts over 400 reserve hydrogen projects.

To better meet the fast growth of hydrogen-powered fuel-cell vehicles and further lower the transport cost in the hydrogen industry, Daxing will undertake the production of hydrogen energy from natural gas in HYPOWER hydrogen-filling station, which is the largest one in the world. It will put three gasoline-hydrogen stations into use and build at least two more hydrogen-filling stations in collaboration with China National Petroleum Corporation and China Petrochemical Corporation in 2023.
